DR MATTHEW HUNTER,
FDS.RCS(Eng) FFD.RCSI(Periodontics) MRD.RCS(Eng) LDS.RCS(Eng), MSc(Lond) MClinDent(Lond) BDS(Lond) BSc(Hons).
M Hunter graduated in 1990 form UCH, London with a degree in dentistry after obtaining a Licentiate in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons. As a dental undergraduate a special award of a Medical Research Council Scholarship enabled him to read for an honours Anatomy degree in two years, with special dental anatomy and hard tissue studies. Whilst an undergraduate he came first in the operative technique exam, the prosthetic dental essay and won the international competition for the Harty Medal of the British Endodontic Society. After general and hospital practice he passed the Fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons of England , sitting oral and maxillofacial surgery and oral medicine streams. After research and general practice he commenced a Specialist Registrar position centred at Guys and St Thomas 's hospital for five years completing the Master degree in Periodontics, the Master degree in Clinical Dentistry (Periodontics) and after competitive international examination became a Member in Restorative Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons, the highest dental qualification. An award of a completion certificate in specialist training was issued by the Royal College (CCST) he was registered and by the UK General Dental Council as a restorative specialist in Periodontics. This is a European wide qualification and is transparently recognised by many other countries. He also passed the new specialist Fellowship in Periodontics at the Royal College of Surgeon in Ireland , passing in Dublin , becoming a Fellow. He registered as a specialist in NSW in 2003 and worked as a senior registrar/lecturer briefly and as a staff speclalist/lecturer for two years training specialist registrars in Periodontics. He enjoys working as Senior Lecturer in Periodontics teaching undergraduate and postgraduate periodontics and is in specialist private practice. His interests are microsurgical applications of soft and hard periodontal tissue regeneration, tissue engineering (completed two years of a doctorate in this) and aesthetic implant surgery. He has a wife and new baby son and this has put paid to most of his pastimes (tennis,flying and scuba) at present.
DR PAUL HICKEY,
BDSc (QLD)
Dr Paul Hickey attained a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Queensland in 1982. Paul is a general dentist with extensive experience in orthodontics. He recognises the need to combine orthodontics with general and cosmetic dental procedures.
DR EDUARDO ALCAINO,

Dr Eduardo A. Alcaino is a paediatric dentist who has been in full time specialist private practice since 1999. After completing his BDS (Hons) at the University of Sydney in 1988, he worked in general private practice for 8 years. He is currently a Specialist Clinical Associate with the University of Sydney and a Visiting Specialist at the Westmead Centre for Oral Health, in Sydney-NSW. He gained his Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS) in 1992 and at present runs two private specialist practices in Burwood and Bondi junction, in Sydney-NSW. At David Cox Dental he consults and carries out the more complex procedures on our young patients.
DR SIMON FRANKS
Originally from NZ, Dr Simon Franks graduated from the University of Otago with an Honours degree in the Medical Sciences. He then travelled to Australia in 1999 to complete his study of Dentistry where he again graduated with Honours from the University of Sydney. Simon is a caring and gentle dentist who provides an exceptional standard of care for all his patients. He enjoys, and practises comprehensive dentistry to a very high standard and keeps himself abreast of recent advances and modern developments via postgraduate courses. Outside of private practice, Simon is a contributor to the East Meets West Foundation Dental Program. He regularly travels to Vietnam , donating his time and skills to the treatment of orphaned children and to those in need. Simon is a keen surfer and enjoys playing his guitar.
